Fire-rated glass is made of a single pane of glass and meets the corresponding fire resistance requirements. It maintains its fire integrity in a specified fire test.
Fire integrity refers to the ability of fire-rated glass, when one side is exposed to fire under standard fire test conditions, to prevent flames and hot gases from penetrating or flames from appearing on the unexposed side for a certain period of time.
Fire-rated glass standards classify fire-rated glass into three grades according to fire resistance: Grade Ⅰ, Grade Ⅱ, and Grade Ⅲ.
Advantages of Fire-Rated Glass
Fire resistance: Single-pane fire-rated glass belongs to Class C fire-rated glass according to its fire resistance performance and meets the requirements for fire integrity.
Safety: When broken, it splits into small, uniformly obtuse-angled particles that are not easily harmful.
Strength: The strength of single-pane fire-rated glass is higher than that of tempered glass.
Thermal stability: Fire-rated glass has a higher ability to withstand temperature changes than tempered glass.
Processability: It can also be processed into composite processed glass products through different processing methods such as coating, hollowing, and laminating.
